Update - We are in America!!!

Hello everyone! Okay so we finally have the internet! We have been in the states now about 2 and half weeks and it has flown over. We have been so busy.

Alexander is doing great and loves the weather. We found his new favorite toy now too. He has a Jumperoo and he absoulutely loves it!!! Thanks to his Uncle Paul. We also finally got the Bumbo seat too and he sits in it so good. He can't sit on his own yet, but he is almost there. Oh and now that we are in America and we don't have a bassinet or moses basket Alexander has to sleep all night in his own bed in his own room! He has been doing so well too! As of this week he is finally back in his own routine. Goes to bed around 8 and up around 6:30.

We went to his new pedeatrician last week and we really like her. She has a couple patients with Alexander's same heart problem so it was a little reassuring. We met with his early intervention program too and the Physical and Occupational Therapists are suppose to come out in a few weeks to do a evaluation on him. And Alexander's next heart appointment isn't until July 1st and that is at Children's Hospital in St Louis.

A Little Vacation to Amsterdam!

So we got Alexander's passport on Friday and then decided to take a little vacation. We went to Amsterdam on the ferry! We were only on the ferry for 2 nights and we got to visit Amsterdam all day Wednesday. We wish we would have been there longer but we really enjoyed our time away! Alexander had alot of fun and was excellent. All he did today was sleep! We must have worn him out! He was glad to be back home! :)

Today we only have 9 days till we leave! We have a get together with our friends and fam on Sat and then appointments next week and we are set to take off!

Making Strides!!!

Alexander is doing wonderful and the doctors are so proud of him. He got the okay to fly from the cardiologist too! sigh - What a relief! His sat levels have to be above 80% to fly and his were right on yesterday. Dr. Kirk said they might go down a little in the air but that is normal with everyone. He said he might turn a little blue but its nothing to worry about.

Just after he was born his sats were at 65% , so considering he didn't have his op for a day and a half we know he will be fine!!!! :) He wasn't on any oxygen before the op either.

He is rolling over all the time now as well. They other day he rolled over 4 times in a row. We have hard wood floors and he was on the rug, so that is as far as mommy would let him go! :) We also received his passport today as well! We can officially go to America now! Yeah!

So as of today we have 15 days until we leave! :)

Alexander is a US Citizen

So we had our appointment in London to get Alexander's passport, to report his birth abroad and to register for his ssn. It was a long two days but we managed. So now we are waiting on his passport and we can officially go back to the states. They said it should take about 2 weeks. Yeah!

Alexander is doing great and he keeps rolling over. He can nearly roll from his back to his front now too. His one arm gets in the way and he gives up. He tries hard though.

We go back to the heart doctor on April 17th. He is doing wonderful though!!!

Just Packing!

Not much too new! Just the same ole same old. We have been packing all week and getting quotes from shipping company's. Hopefully the things will be gone soon! Its takes 4-12 weeks to get to the states. At that rate we won't get all our things until July!

Alexander is still our growing little boy. He loves to go on walks with Mommy and since the weather has been acting nice we have been taking advantage of it.

Rolling Over!

So our big boy is starting to roll over and its just not a fluke. This morning he rolled again 5 times from his stomach to his back. He is trying to go from his back to his stomach but he just gets stuck in a pretzel. His head is as far back as possible but he hasn't mastered the technique yet. He doesn't realize that you have to put one let over the other. It won't be long now though. He is doing so good and we are thoroughly impressed with him everyday. His muscles are so strong. :)

Oh and sorry but I can't get a good picture now either. He sees the flash on the camera and stops laughing and just stares at me. He doesn't like the light in his face.

My Growing Little Boy!

Alexander is now 16 weeks old and thriving, how time has slipped away. He is 13 pounds already too. This coming Wednesday we go for his last shot until he is a year old. I feel so sorry for him because this time he gets one in each leg and one his arm. Poor little guy. You would think he would be use to getted pricked and battered but he sure isn't. He is starting to get a little more vocal as well. As I have told most of you, his voice is so soft. You can't hear him crying if we are in the next room. When I go to the Baby Groups I am like "Alexander don't learn how to scream like that okay little buddy." I guess he has been listening because he still has a pretty soft voice.



His physical therapist, along with his early intervention teacher were at the house yesterday. They are so thrilled at how Alexander is coming along. They think he is progressing just like any other 3 and half month old. They believe he should be sitting up on his own by the time he is 5 months old. I can't wait...we practice with him all the time.



Last weekend the family had a long weekend in Wales. John, Alexander, the dog Biddy and I all headed off for our first little vacation. Wales is just over 5 hours from here. The way there went pretty quick and we got to our friends by early evening. John's friend Ben, was ready to start cooking and giving us drinks the minute we walked in the door. We stayed at their house 3 nights and did a little of the tourist things while we were in Wales. On our way home we left at 10am and stopped in Bath, at Stonehenge and in Oxford.



We didn't get home until 11pm that night but we had a fun first trip with the baby. When we got home John was playing with Alexander because we were like "Oh great he is going to be a nightmare tonight cause all he has done is sleep in the car." So anyway John was on the floor with Alexander and guess what he ROLLED OVER! Of course Mommy didn't see it either. He hasn't done it again yet but I am working on it!!!!





Oh by the way, I forgot to mention, my little boy has been sleeping through the nights for about the past month or so too! Don't be jealous for all you with little ones! :) He goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up at about 7am. He is my little sleeper.
